Power Pea was born in 2021 from our love of family.
Growing up in a vegetarian family, our diet was essentially fruits, vegetables, lentils, other legumes, nuts, seeds, and whole grains. That’s how we fed our boys too — until we discovered that our oldest was hyper-allergic to dairy and nuts.
Knowing that plant-based diets can be deficient in nutrients — like protein, omega-3 fats, iron, and vitamin B12, we started looking into supplements. It was highly disappointing to see the kid’s supplements loaded with sweeteners, additives, and GMO ingredients. Cooking three times a day for a household of four and keeping track of everyone’s daily supplements was stressful.
We knew there had to be a better way to meet everyone’s needs than keeping track of so many different supplements and dietary needs. We imagined something that met the needs of the whole family. We wanted it to be easy to add into our daily routines, without adding an extra meal. A product that mixes seamlessly with all kinds of food – easy to add, with no additional taste or flavor. From that point forward, we set out on this task: to create a product that focused on addressing the most common dietary needs for vegan/vegetarian families, that was made with high quality ingredients.
